The ‘SuperBowl’ of licensing is done for another year. As ever the show was a great meeting place for brands, licensees, retailers, creatives and everyone else connected to the industry.
This year over 12,000 registered professionals attended, with international attendees representing nearly 30% of the expo audience. 381 companies from 30 countries exhibited, with 142 of them being new to show. And there was a record of over 10,000 accepted meeting invites.
The big studio showcases generated great buzz and excitment - especially from Disney. And with Lilo & Stitch and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning having opened this weekend to great ticket sales it seems the summer box office momentum started by the Minecrat movie is set to continue further building confidence.
There are some great insights into the conversations and trends from the show covering tariffs, changing consumer habits etc. from License Global, Licensing Source and JustNowNews.
For us at Negosh we had a fantastic second year of having a booth at the show. The team took over 100 meetings and saw 100s of new sign-ups to the platform.
We also collaborated with our fantastic partners at emoji, Bob Ross, Mr Softee and the NBA to create floor stickers to help guide attendees to the Negosh booth.
The Show Dailies covered the growth of the Negosh platform over the past 12 months and our Head of Marketing, Tom Dobson-Gunn, also took part in a panel about building and maintaining a career in the licensing industry.
This year's show was a fantastic return to form, with the floor being incredibly busy, particularly on Tuesday. Everyone we spoke to was optimistic about the future with an incredibly exciting, and packed, releae schedule across film, TV and video games. During uncertain times retailers and consumers turn to trusted brands and licensing is uniquely placed to maximise this opportunity.
As always we’re incredibly grateful to be part of this vibrant industry and this coming week we will be concentrating on all the follow up.
See you again at BLE in London in October.
