Tim Elko is a First Baseman in the Chicago White Sox Organization who played college baseball at the University of Mississippi and was an integral part of the program’s first National Championship. Tim attended Hillsborough High School in Tampa, FL where he was a standout four-year letterwinner. As a senior, Tim was named to the Perfect Game Florida High School Dream Team and was deemed the No. 69 overall recruit in the country by Perfect Game. After graduating with honors, Tim would go on to play for Ole Miss where he would be a 2-time team captain and standout player. He finished his senior season as the 2021 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the first ever Ole Miss player to win the award. Tim’s standout senior season involved being named the NCBWA National Hitter of the Month for the month of March and All-South Region by ABCA. His strong year involved a multi-home run game in the 2021 NCAA Oxford Regional game and a double in his final at bat of the season. Tim returned to Ole Miss for his redshirt Senior season where he led Ole Miss in slugging percentage (.642), RBI (75), home runs (24), and total bases (154). Tim was second on the team in hits (72) and runs scored (63), third on the team in on-base percentage (.407) and fourth on the team in batting average (.300). Tim’s 24 home runs in a single season became a new school record. Tim went 4-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored in game one of the College World Series Finals against Oklahoma and was a big contributor to the program’s first CWS win. Tim had a historic collegiate career that included three super regional appearances, an All-American selection and the first national championship in school history. Tim was selected by the Chicago White Sox with the 311th overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. Tim played 7 games for the Sox’s Rookie Ball team, the ACL White Sox, before being promoted to their Low-A affiliate, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, where he finished the year hitting a .240 through 96 at-bats. Tim quickly ascended the Minor League system in 2023, being promoted to the Double-A affiliate in the beginning of August. He slashed .269/.292/.431 with Birmingham that year. In 2024 Tim bounced between Triple-A and Double-A, batting .289 throughout the year while also tallying 18 home runs and 73 RBI. In 2025, Tim made his Major League debut with the White Sox on May 10. Tim has appeared in 18 games for the White Sox this year, racking up 4 home runs and 8 RBI, and has been bouncing between the majors and Triple-A.
