Amani Hooker

Amani Hooker was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round (116th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Iowa from 2016 to 2018, where he was a standout on defense. Over his college career, Hooker tallied 125 tackles, six interceptions, one sack, and one touchdown. As a junior in 2018, he was honored as the Tatum-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year after recording 65 tackles, four interceptions, and a sack. Following that season, Hooker decided to forgo his senior year and declared for the 2019 NFL Draft. In his rookie season with the Titans, Hooker made 19 tackles and contributed as both a safety and special teams player. His role expanded in his second season, and he improved significantly, recording 51 tackles, 8 passes defended, and 4 interceptions during the 2020 regular season. By the 2021 season, Hooker had stepped into a full-time starting role, where he posted 62 tackles in 12 starts. In 2022, Hooker signed a three-year contract extension with the Titans, solidifying his place as a core member of the defense. Despite battling a knee injury that limited him to nine starts that season, he managed to finish strong, contributing 46 tackles and one interception. In 2023, Hooker had a great year, recording 85 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 interception, and 7 passes defensed. Hooker’s 2023 campaign proved why he was worth the investment. Hooker’s 2024 season was the best of his career, as he recorded 71 total tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 5 interceptions, and 9 passes defensed. In a Week 9 overtime win, Hooker had a standout performance, as he intercepted the New England Patriots twice in the game.
