

A native of Michigan, Ogundeji was drafted in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame. He began his football journey later than most, not playing until his freshman year of high school. Despite this, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of Michigan’s top prospects. By his senior season, he was ranked as the state’s No. 18 player by 247Sports, No. 11 by ESPN, and No. 32 by Rivals. At Notre Dame, Ogundeji developed into a formidable defensive player. He played five seasons for the Fighting Irish, earning the distinction of team captain in his final year in 2020. His leadership and on-field production helped solidify his reputation as a key contributor on one of the nation's top defenses. Ogundeji was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round with the 182nd overall pick of the 2021 NFL draft. Over the 2021 and 2022 seasons, he appeared in 32 games, recording 75 tackles. His 2022 season was particularly notable, as he registered 42 tackles, including a career-high seven tackles in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 4, 2022. On August 29, 2024, Ogundeji was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ogundeji announced his retirement from the NFL in 2025.
